The most typical thing about Rocky′s is that there is no typical day. Working here is like being a part of a family — everyone pitches in, no one says “that′s not my job″ and there is a lot of support to help you learn and grow.

One thing that you can count on, though, is that no matter what your background or position in the company, you will need to be ready to put the customer first from the moment you walk in the door.

This means being ready and willing to ask questions of customers, to take an interest in their projects and reasons for shopping at Rocky′s and not being afraid to make suggestions or give advice.

Rocky′s associates and managers often:

  • Help customers carry heavy items and load them into their vehicles
  • Introduce customers to new or featured products that might be of interest
  • Answer specialized project questions for customers
  • Stop what they are working on to help a customer find a product or get the service that they need
  • Stock shelves, arrange merchandise or clean areas of the store to help keep the store safe, clean and organized

Some Rocky′s sales associates and managers know a lot about hardware, lawn care or home projects when they are hired, while some are just passionate about retail and are looking to learn. No matter what your experience, you will receive both interactive computer training and on-the-job help, so you will be prepared to answer any customer question or request.

Rocky′s also offers continuous opportunities to learn new skills, and we are committed to promoting from within the company whenever possible. Many of our store managers and corporate executives started out as associates, and since Rocky′s already has 34 store locations and is still growing, there is always room for you to grow, too.
