Part-time Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Corporate Office (Springfield, MA) • Corporate Position • Reports To Payroll and Benefits Manager

This position is part-time working approximately 20 hours per week from 8am-12pm to 9am-1pm!

Compile, record and analyze employee time, payroll and benefits data. Ensuring processes and procedures are compliant with state and federal payroll and benefits regulations. 



Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the compilation payroll data such as garnishments, paid time off, insurance and 401(k) deductions
  • Review employee timesheets for completeness and accuracy
  • Contact various store managers for any missed time on timesheets
  • Ensure integrity of new hire information
  • Audit new hire paperwork
  • Comply with state and federal laws regarding final pay and unemployment information
  • Input, edit, audit and monitor benefits elections
  • Compile internal management reports from payroll system software

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Language Ability:

Must be able to read and interpret documents; speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

Math Ability:

Should be able to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic concepts of math.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Should be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; also be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills:

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.  

Knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce and Epicor Eagle a plus.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
