Clear the Air
We think of our homes as safe and clean, but recent EPA estimates note that indoor pollutant levels may be two to five times higher than outdoor pollution. You can take action today to make sure that the air inside your home is clean and safe for you and your family.
Tip #1 — Replace Fiberglass Air Filters with Electrostatic Filters
Conventional fiberglass filters were created to protect your heating and air-conditioning units, not your lungs.
New electrostatic filters are 97% efficient at filtering all indoor air pollutants, including dust, bacteria, pollen, mold and more.
Tip #2 — Change Your Vacuum Bag Monthly
Replace your vacuum bag at least once a month and don’t let it get more than half full. If the bag gets too full,
particles of dust, dirt and dander can be released back into the air.
Tip #3 — Increase Ventilation
An easy way to lower indoor air pollution is to get more outdoor air flowing through your home. Opening windows and doors, using
window fans or running a window air conditioner with the vent control open all increase the outdoor ventilation rate.
Bathroom and kitchen fans that vent outdoors remove contaminants from the room and also increase the outdoor air ventilation rate.
